The training programme is organized once a year. Next programme is organised from 30th of March to 28th of May 2020.
Application period for the next programme is from 3rd of February to 2nd of March.
After the application period the applicants are interviewed in groups. Interviews are mainly held on 9th of March. Please, book this time in your calendar. If necessary, interviews can also be held on 6th or 10th of March.
The project teams are build by project coaches using the information from application and interviews. The applicants are informed of the selection and of the team on 13th of March.
It is not possible to choose a spesific project to work with, but it is possible to describe preferences, career plans or competence to help matching you and the project when coaches build the project teams.
What is included?
The focus of the training is on genuine client projects, executed in multidisciplinary and international teams of 3-5 students. The clients represent the local business, NGOs and public organisations.
The project can include e.g. event planning and management, concept planning, developing marketing, communication or logistics, or product development. The results of the project can include development plans, reports, demos or events. Some of the projects are in English.
The projects are published to the attendees after the application process.
The training includes three training days for all students, and other meetings. It is important the students participate in the meetings, they support succesful execution of the project
Brainstorming Workshop is on 30th of March at 9-16, mid-term meeting on 22th of April at 13-16 and final meeting on 28th of May at 9-16. Only students completing the Brainstorming Workshop can participate the programme. Also the mid-term meeting and the closure seminar are obligatory for all the participants.
The joint meetings are in English.
Also, the project teams meet by themselves and with their clients and coaches to plan and execute the projects.
Duration of training and the work load
The Project Aces programme is carried out during 2 months. The estimated work load per student is 135 hours over the given period. Participation in the programme does not require full-time commitment; it can be done along with other studies or with part-time job. Still, students should keep in mind that the project work must be reserved enough time and commitment is essential.
Who can participate?
The programme is aimed at undergraduate and master level students of the higher education institutions of Turku, and for recent graduates. For undergraduates, two years of succesful studies is recommended. Also foreign degree students and exchange students are welcome, if they are in Turku during the time span of the training.
The extent of the training is 5 ETCS credits / 135 hours. The Project Aces training grants the students a certificate after they have completed the training.
NB! Because the Project Aces is not a part of curricula in all of the study programmes, students should separately apply for the credits to be included in their study register from the university / faculty / subject. The students are responsible for applying for the accreditation.
